To create a public awareness poster about cyberbullying to be displayed at school and within the community.
Objectives:
1. Students will define cyberbullying with 100% accuracy.
2. Students will analyze behaviors that contribute to cyberbullying.
Opening Activity:
We are beginning a unit on cyberbullying. To help direct our learning we are going to create a K-W-L chart.
K- What do we KNOW
W- What to we WANT to know
L- What have weLEARNED
Prior Homework:
You should have with you the two index cards that were assigned for homework. Each index card should have 1 fact you KNOW about cyberbullying.
Group Activity:
You will be divided into groups of 3. Please do the following:
1. Share with your group the 2 things you KNOW about cyberbullying written on your index \
cards.
2. Based on what the group already KNOWS, discuss what you WANT TO KNOW about cyberbullying.
3. Decide on 3 things your group wants to know.
4. EVERYONE MUST CONTRIBUTE TO THE DISCUSSION. You will each be given 3 green, yellow or red Popsicle sticks. As you add to the discussion, place one of your colored Popsicle sticks in the middle of the desk.
5. You will have about 10 minutes for this activity.
6. I will then come around and collect your index cards and each person will tell me one thing the group WANTS TO KNOW to be added to our K-W-L chart.

After you have completed the Group Activity:
1. Go to Cure The Bullies
2. Read about 6 types of cyberbullying viruses.
3. Take the quiz that follows.
4. Read tips for stopping cyberbullying.
5. Pickle Your Virus (Follow the directions onscreen) You will not be able to post to the
gallery since the website is having trouble lately.
6. Print your pickled virus.
